About us
Eurosky is building the future of social media—open, pluralistic, and made in Europe.
We believe social media should serve our economies and societies, not monopolies. Eurosky is a public-interest infrastructure project that puts control in the hands of users, businesses, and European society.
By combining European cloud infrastructure with open standards and democratic governance, we’re creating a new ecosystem where innovation thrives, moderation is transparent, and no single company or country can dictate the rules.
Eurosky is a pan-European initiative spearheaded by a coalition of private sector, technologists and civil society organizations to ensure the web remains independent, interoperable, and resilient.
Eurosky is part of the broader Free Our Feeds initiative. Our aim: a safer, fairer, and more competitive online space for everyone in Europe, and beyond.
Governance
Social media ecosystems require substantial governance at multiple levels. Eurosky will be managed by a European non-profit foundation with a robust public interest charter and a governance mechanism that ensure its independence and impartiality.
Eurosky will be part of the global ATProto ecosystem and aims to help create pluralistic global governance of the protocol. We will develop a Eurosky covenant to ensure that participants in the Eurosky AT network respect European norms and values. Eurosky will further work towards integration between ATProto and other protocols (specifically ActivityPub) to ensure the interoperability at the infrastructure level that supports the diverse interests of many stakeholders.
